Last fall Rehab Highland Park and the folks from the Massachusetts Street Improvement Association planted 500 daffodil bulbs in Massachusetts Park. RHP is committed to the revitalization of our city parks. This year we hope to plant 1000 daffodils in other spaces within Highland Park!! The daffodils are looking great and we can’t wait to add more beauty to this historic city!! 🛠💪🏾☀️🌱🌼😍

🗣 Wow, what a turn out!!!! Thanks to all who joined, donated, celebrated and supported yesterdays bowl-a-thon fundraiser. This year we were able to double our amount of sponsorships, thank you, thank you! We also had nearly double the amount of attendees…we appreciate the love! Shout out to our amazing artist Joseph Buechel, who did all of the amazing caricature art!! 🖼🎨🎳🎟💞🥳

We’re still tallying all the donations and ticket sales but we’ll update you on that soon. Have a great rest of the weekend! We’re are very grateful and thankful. RHP will remain hard at work putting these dollars to great use in the city of Highland Park!! 🙏🏽

Yesterday I went to pick up the raffle baskets from Becharas Brothers Coffee Company here in Highland Park for our upcoming fundraiser this Saturday. They gave me a tour, it was fascinating and informative! They’ve been in business since 1914, before Highland Park became a city distributing coffee around the world. This is their second year supporting Rehab Highland Park and our work in the community. We’re very thankful for their contribution! 🥳👏🏾☕️🧺🙏🏽

🏚🏡. It’s “From that, to This” Tuesday!!! We restored the original garage on our rehab next door, circa 1918. It was in bad shape and nearly unsalvageable. Lots of structural work and some TLC, it’s better than new!! Last photo is the original barn/garage door 🚪 hardware from the inside. We cleaned it up and put back what was original, the sliding door. The hardware dates back to 1903, made in Chicago, IL, you can see the manufactured date if you look closely!! TGIF, It’s #flashbackfriday!! We’re almost done with the hallway linen closet restoration in the house next door, take a look at the before & after pics! The original cabinet door was damaged by fire so we had to replicate what would’ve been there. Thanks to our carpenter, Chuck and wood restorationist, @oscar_cotton_restore who crafted the new door and restored the cabinet. Final photos coming soon! (Yes, we’ve had to do more work to the house after the TV episode on @magnolianetwork). Gotta get it just right, yah know!! Rehab Highland Park is excited to partner with @easternmichigan and their department of Urban & Regional Planning on a semester long project to help create tangible concepts & designs for several green spaces and parks within Highland Park, MI. We’d like to thank RJ Koscielniak, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor at EMU for reaching out to RHP for this project. This will be a learning experience for both parties involved and we’ll keep you updated as we work together over the next few months. Happy Friday, everyone!!
